I didn't set out to become an embodiment teacher.
All little baby Dee knew is that she was exceptionally gifted from a very age to bring up the mood. My mother told me that even as a baby I would, “light up the room.” I didn’t quite understand what that meant until later in life. All I know is that I have always been a glass half full, “positive polly.”Â
I became an acupuncturist because..
I wanted to help people heal. I knew there had to be a better way. I watched my sister suffer when we were kids with a mystery illness. I never really jived with western medicine for this reason: I was seeing how it was only treating the symptoms and not the root cause of the disease.
Life became personal.
Through my own experience being SA’d and traumatized by a medical professional,Â
I did what most women do. I searched for information; read the books, learned the nervous system. Healing. Embodiment. Chinese medicine. Anything taht promised me a way back to myself. I slowly learned how to come home to myself.Â
It took years. Not because healing has to take years, but because no one ever showed me how. I didn’t have a map.Â
Over thousands of patient visits I noticed:
Just acupuncture on its own isn’t enough for long lasting change and transformation.
I realized women weren't lacking information. They were disconnected from themselves. Sometimes for really good reasons. The problem is, this isn’t sustainable.
